Sub-processors

The providers that help run FetchApp.

FetchApp uses outside providers to run the software, store files, take payments and send email. These providers are called sub-processors. The list explains what each does and what data it can access.

The list

Who we use, and for what

Company What it does for FetchApp What it can see
Amazon Web Services Runs the production database and stores hosted files Your account data and the files you upload
Cloudflare Stores and serves the files your buyers download, through R2 Your product files, and the requests to download them
Hetzner Runs the host your buyers download from Every download request, and the files passing through it
Backblaze File storage, through B2 Files stored on it
Heroku Application hosting platform The running application and the data passing through it
Braintree, a PayPal company Takes the payment when we bill you directly Your billing details and your card
Shopify Bills you, when you installed FetchApp from the Shopify App Store Your subscription and what it costs
Postmark Sends the delivery email and our account email Your buyer’s email address and the contents of the message
Rollbar Error tracking, so a fault gets noticed and fixed Application error reports
Freshdesk, a Freshworks product The support desk Your support email, and whatever you send us in it
A managed Redis service The background job queue that delivery work runs through Queued work, which can include order details
InterServer Runs the host our page-view counter is served from The IP address your browser connects from, and which pages on this site you viewed

When we bill you directly, your card details go to Braintree. FetchApp does not store your card number. What we hold is Braintree’s reference to the card and the last digits, which is enough to take a renewal and enough for support to tell one card from another. If Shopify bills you, we never see a card at all.

Where it is

Where data is processed

FetchApp LLC is a United States company and the production database runs in a United States region. If you or your buyers are in the EEA or the UK, that means your data is transferred to the United States.

We do not offer an EU-hosted option today. If your organisation has location requirements for its data, tell us what they are so we can check whether FetchApp meets them.

Ask us for the regions used by individual providers. We will share the information we have; locations have not been confirmed for every provider.

Keeping it current

When this list changes

This page carries the date it was last updated, at the top. When we add a sub-processor, we update this page before the change goes live, and we tell account holders by email.

If a new sub-processor is a problem for you, tell us before it goes live and we will work out what to do about it.

For a data processing agreement naming your own entity, email [email protected] and we will send it. It is currently available as a document, with a website version planned. Terms and policies →

Procurement questions

Common questions

Do you have a DPA?

Yes. Email [email protected] with the entity it should name and we will send it.

Where are my customers' files stored?

Uploaded files are stored separately from the application and served through Cloudflare R2 at a FetchApp address. Larger accounts can also use their own file storage. How security is handled →

Do you store card numbers?

No. When we bill you directly your card is handled by Braintree, and we keep their reference to it plus the last digits. If you installed from the Shopify App Store, Shopify bills you and no card reaches us.

Will you tell me before you add a new sub-processor?

Yes, by email to the account, and we update this page before the change goes live.

Can I get the regions each vendor uses?

Ask us and we will share the information we have. The production database is in a United States region. Locations have not been confirmed for every provider.

Filling in a security questionnaire?

Email [email protected] and it reaches the people who build FetchApp. Tell us what your review needs and we will answer it directly.
