Your store and your downloads

Two ways to deliver digital products

Start with how you sell and what you need to deliver.

FetchApp works with your existing store and payment provider. Once an order is paid, it sends the files and license keys. You need your own storefront and checkout: FetchApp is not a marketplace or a merchant of record, does not take your customers’ payments and does not file VAT for you. How FetchApp works →

SendOwl, founded in 2010, also delivers digital files and license keys across different platforms. It can take payments too, including recurring payments for memberships.

Before choosing, check which features your shop needs, what each plan includes, and how prices can change as your business grows.

Recurring subscriptions for your buyers No. We deliver against an order your store has already been paid for, one order at a time. Yes. Check your membership billing needs before switching.

What makes the bill go up Storing more files with us. From the Business tier, you can use your own S3 or Cloudflare R2 storage instead. Storage options → Moving up a tier. SendOwl moves your plan up as your yearly sales and orders cross each published threshold. Some customers have also reported larger increases; see the dated reports below.
An order missing from the delivery service Shopify notifications that reached FetchApp but did not create an order are re-checked automatically. Shopify guide → Ask them.
A buyer who lost the email Looks their own order up by email address, on your storefront domain, without contacting you or us. When email goes missing → Ask them.
Uptime and service level agreement (SLA) 99.995% over the last 365 days, measured by UptimeRobot, reported 2026-08-26. No SLA on standard plans. Ask them about monitoring and service commitments.

SendOwl’s published entry plan was $39/month when we checked it on 2026-10-08. “Ask them” means we could not confirm that feature. Check with SendOwl before relying on it for your shop. If you spot an error, let us know.

Your side of the comparison

Six questions worth asking either of us

Use these questions to check how each service would handle your orders. The links explain how FetchApp works.

  • What happens when an order is missing? FetchApp re-checks Shopify notifications that arrived but did not become an order. Shopify guide →
  • Can buyers download before opening the email? On Shopify, FetchApp adds download links to the order-status page after checkout, so buyers can download while they wait for the email. How the Shopify install works →
  • Can downloads use my store’s address? FetchApp downloads can use your storefront domain, so buyers see your shop’s address. What FetchApp is →
  • How many license keys can one item include? FetchApp allows up to 100 license keys per Shopify line item. License-key reference →
  • What happens if I run out of license keys? FetchApp still delivers the file, without a key. Check the unused-key count so you know when to add more. License-key guide →
  • Can I use my own file storage? From the Business tier, you can use your own S3 or Cloudflare R2 storage instead of paying for more FetchApp storage. Limits, in full →
Now the price

A record month costs the same as a quiet one.

Our bill is driven by how much you store with us, not by how much you sell. SendOwl’s published entry plan is $39/month. Ours is $5.

Compare every plan on the pricing page. FetchApp takes no percentage of your sales, so selling more does not raise your delivery bill. SendOwl’s monthly plan is set by your yearly sales and orders, and moves up a tier as they grow. The calculator shows the two side by side at your numbers.

From the Business tier, you can use your own S3 or Cloudflare R2 storage instead of buying more storage from FetchApp. Storage options →

Where these figures come from

Long-standing SendOwl customers have publicly reported increases from $29 to $599 a month, from $15 to $159, and from $24 to $299, several of them describing around thirty days’ notice, posted on public review listings.

Those are third-party customer reports, not SendOwl’s price list. They were collected in our market research on 2026-07-02 and we have not re-verified them since, so treat them as reports and read the original reviews before making a decision. SendOwl’s published entry plan was $39/month, checked on 2026-10-08.

The obvious questions

Questions about choosing and switching

Should I switch if SendOwl is working for me?

If SendOwl meets your needs at a price you are happy with, there may be no reason to move. Both services deliver digital files and license keys. Compare the features you use, your monthly cost and the work involved in switching.

Does FetchApp do everything SendOwl does?

No. FetchApp does not bill recurring subscriptions for your buyers, and it has a smaller set of app-store reviews. If you rely on a particular feature, ask us to check it with you before you move. Ask us →

Can you take over my SendOwl subscribers?

No. FetchApp does not bill your subscribers. Their billing needs to move to your chosen payment service first, and FetchApp can then deliver each paid order. One-off purchases, license keys and download history do move. What moves and what doesn’t →

Will my past customers keep their downloads?

Your past orders move. Import them as a CSV and FetchApp rebuilds download access for those buyers, license keys included, then emails everyone a fresh link. The links are new ones sent from your store. Your previous provider’s links stop working when you leave them. How the order import works →

Is there a human at your end?

Email support, Monday to Friday, answered by the people who build it. We are not publishing a response-time target yet. How support works →

What if I want to leave you later?

You can export products, orders and assigned license keys as CSV files. Plans that include API access also support custom exports. You can take this data with you if you choose another service. The docs →
